April was a typical month with a chapter 72 meeting with a Chapter 168 meeting the Friday after. Lindsay Bramall unveiled his latest project - a sputnik looking 2 month weight driven torsion clock, the likes of which you have never seen before or will again!  Graham Mitchell was looking for a source for a decal to replace the cracked glass on his Ansonia Despatch wall clock.  Doug Minty talked about watch repair and how different it is from clocks, especially the spare parts scene.  The main advice was to attain the requisite skills before attempting work in this area.

Chapter 168 put on a display of 400 day clocks from their restoration with before pictures.  This showed the results that can be attained from quite distressed clocks if you know the techniques and are willing to put in the time.  There was a suspicious entry called Bacchus - grapes instead of balls on the pendulum - one of Jack Percival's amusing creations.

The chapter 168 meeting was held at Graeme Power's home surfing for 400 day clocks on the internet.  Graeme shared his considerable experience of buying and selling on ebay and other auction sites.  There are lots of traps for the uninitiated.  No pictures this month.
