December 2011 - Chapter 72

Our Christmas Party was the last meeting of the year and was well attended by 106 members and guests who enjoyed the camaraderie and seasonal fare.

Show and tell can be seen in the gallery shown here, following the theme of the meeting - musical clockwork.

The raffle prize was a huge French marble clock with visible escapement which overjoyed the winner! A highlight of the meeting was a previous raffle prize won by David Murray - literally a box of bits. It turned out to be an American double fusee bracket clock C1850 which, under the guidance of Doug Minty, has turned into a magnificent clock. This was David's first restoration project, proving that newcomers can do excellent work.
