Chapter 72 Auction - 2010

There is always a great selection of clocks available at our Annual Auction (see our Calendar for the 2011 event). The photos show wooden or marble mantel clocks-American, French, German and English, some in restored condition and others awaiting restoration. There are always clocks that pose a real challenge, not for the faint-hearted.

The wall clocks included English fusee dial clocks, American Drop dials and German Regulators. A beautifully ornate French Morez clock was eagerly sought after. There was little in the way of longcase clocks except for a couple of old movements requiring re-casing.

With the Chapter running an Electrical Horology group, there was a good offering of battery operated clocks, Bulle, Tiffany and Brillie. The cut glass Bulle clock is a lovely example of the genre. As usual, more 400-day or Anniversary clocks keep coming out of the woodwork to satisfy torsion clock enthusiasts. Although not shown, plenty of tools and mini lathes were snapped up by the eager buyers.
