August 2008 - Chapter 72 Meeting

The AGM was conducted at the August 2008 meeting. President Lindsay Bramall summarised the achievements of the past year, including numerous workshops, field visits and the special Electrical Horology course

Max Osborne used his own drawings to talk about the letter "O" in horology as part of our alphabet series of presentations. On display were Brille clocks and other members bring alongs, an interesting Mart, special afternoon tea and great cameraderie.

Wonderful drawings by Max to illustrate his talk on the letter "O." A nice change from powerpoint!	The mart always has interesting items put on the table for members to buy and sell.	What's in this box on the Mart table? Turns out to be broaches at a reasonable price.	Electric clock display - Brillie clocks from France, electromagnetic operation, very collectible.
Brille regulator - A fine quality electric clock by Brillie. It's a master clock which would have sat in the Boss' office, feeding impulses to slaves (clocks) throughout the Factory to make sure the proletariat doesn't leave early.	Brillie slave - Very unusual desk version of the Brillie slave, a bit art deco in style.	Brillie Wall dial - The wall Brillie slave is the more common version.
