Chapter 168 June 2007 Meeting

The meeting in Sydney was a practical workshop to learn about clock pinions. Show and tell produced a nice Atmos clock which also has a torsion pendulum.

The Atmos clock has a nice golden colour and appears to be in good condition. The 400-day clocks were brought along by members to have queries answered.
Doug Minty shows some of the gadgets he brought back from the recent Tic Tock Tour. The 2 main types of pinion - lantern and solid or cut pinions were the topic of the workshop, how to inspect, test and repair.
Valve grinding paste can be used with pegwood to get into the corners of cut pinions for cleaning rust and grunge.
