Chapter 72, December 2006

Patti clocks were the main topic of conversation at our December meeting of Chapter 72 in Sydney with some examples shown below. The Pattis can be distinguished by the winding holes just below 3 and 9 0'clock and the ornate glass pendulums. The history of Adeline Patti was extensively covered by Lindsay Bramall and Dave Woods. Pictorial examples of the "Opera singer" range of Patti clocks were exhibited and discussed, apparently there are a couple of dozen styles.

Doug Minty showed us a picture of the "Black Patti" a renowned Opera singer with whom his grandfather toured.
